Today’s the Search Engine Google is showing interactive Doodle celebrates Zimbabwe’s national instrument, the mbira, as Zimbabwe’s Culture Week begins. Try your own hand at this instrument that has been played for over 1,000 years, while experiencing a story as told through the lens of a Zimbabwean girl who learns to play the mbira.
Mbira is an African musical instrument and a tradition of the Shona people of Zimbabwe. It consists of a wooden board with staggered metal teeth attached to it, played by holding the instrument in your hand and picking your teeth with your thumb, your right index finger, and sometimes your left index finger.
